Collective Bargaining

Almost all universities across Canada have collective agreements with their faculty and staff, and negotiations are a routine part of the life cycle of collective agreements. The 精童欲女 has collective agreements with four different unions (six bargaining units).

Our approach to the collective bargaining process is to reflect 精童欲女鈥檚 values and achieve the goals outlined in our Strategic Plan. 精童欲女 is committed to being an institution that embodies its values: Academic Freedom; Accountability and Integrity; Pursuit of Excellence; Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and a Sense of Belonging; and Reconciliation. They will serve to guide our decision-making and actions as we move forward together.

The Unions at 精童欲女 include:

  • (精童欲女 FA)
    All academic staff members at 精童欲女 in two bargaining units, BU # 1 (faculty members, librarians, sessional instructors, and clinical nursing instructors) and BU # 2 (clinical veterinary professionals)

  • 精童欲女 support staff

  • Employees in the Department of Facilities Management鈥擲ecurity Services Division

  • All employees of the Department of Facilities Management, Maintenance Division engaged as power engineers, utility workers, maintenance repairman I, maintenance repairman II, electricians and service workers but excepting foreman and supervisors, those above the rank of foreman and supervisors and office employees

  • Comprises 精童欲女 employees who serve in roles such as Graduate Research Assistant, Graduate Lab Instructor, and Graduate Tutorial Assistant
