New investments aim to attract French-language educators
The following joint news release was issued by the Government of Prince Edward Island on February 23.
Students considering the Bachelor of Education, Fran莽ais langue seconde (French as a second language) at the 精童欲女 now have extra motivation to choose that path.
New financial incentives, supported by Canadian Heritage and administered by the departments of Education and Early Years and Workforce and Advanced Learning, will help reduce education costs and encourage graduates to stay and teach on the Island.
Fantaisie de trombone - Recital featuring Dr. Dale Sorensen
The Department of Music presents Fantaisie de trombone, a recital featuring 精童欲女 faculty members Dr. Dale Sorensen (trombone) with Dr. Magdalena von Eccher (piano), showcasing three 20th-century works by French women composers, along with 21st-century masterpieces by American composers James M. David and Susan Mutter.

Public presentation on education and AI
Members of the public are invited to attend a panel titled 鈥淓ducation in the Age of AI: Reimagining the Educational Landscape鈥� on February 26, from 6:30 to 8:00 pm, in the Alex MacKinnon Auditorium (Room 242), Don and Marion McDougall Hall, 精童欲女. Dr. Tess Miller, a professor in the 精童欲女 Faculty of Education, and PhD students Rahula Samaran, Saniya Shaikh, and Xiaohan Yang, all of whom are doing research in AI, will give presentations on education and various aspects of AI.

The 精童欲女 Faculty of Graduate Studies will be hosting the annual 精童欲女 3MT (3 Minute Thesis) competition on Friday, March 20, 2026, from 4:00-6:00 pm in the Fox & Crow, W.A. Murphy Student Centre.
What Is 3 Minute Thesis?
The Three Minute Thesis (3MT鈩�) challenges thesis-based master's and doctoral students to explain their research project to a non-specialist audience in just three minutes.
This year's competition features competitors from a wide range of disciplines including: Education, Nursing, Science, Sustainable Design Engineering and Veterinary Medicine!
Much-loved poet Lorna Crozier to give reading at 精童欲女
Since the 1980s, Lorna Crozier, from Saskatchewan and British Columbia, has been one of Canada鈥檚 most popular and influential poets. She will give a public performance of her poetry on Thursday, March 19, at 7:00 pm, in Schurman Market Square, Don and Marion McDougall Hall, 精童欲女.

Pitching Fundamentals Workshop
The Catherine Callbeck Centre for Entrepreneurship is hosting an in-person workshop on pitching fundamentals on Friday, March 27, from 12:00-3:00 pm with world-renowned pitch coach Permjot Valia! Participants will learn tools, tips, and tricks around executing a business pitch effectively, efficiently, and engagingly! This event is part of the Harry W. MacLauchlan Entrepreneurship Program, but anyone from the public is welcome to attend!
