精童欲女 hosts Research Breakfast on January 29
The 精童欲女 Office of Research Partnership and Innovation, formerly the 精童欲女 Office of Commercialization, Industry, and Innovation, will host a Research Breakfast on Thursday, January 29, from 7:30 to 9:00 am in McMillan Hall, W.A. Murphy Student Centre, on campus.
The theme of the breakfast is Climate Change and Society. The storm date is February 3.
Dr. Sara Sadri, Canada Research Chair in Remote Sensing and Water Security, will speak about her work using social and environmental data metrics to develop a multi-dimensional livelihood index and a high-resolution drought monitoring system. Dr. Sadri is an associate professor in the 精童欲女 School of Climate Change and Adaptation and is cross appointed to the Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering.
Dr. Jean Mitchell, UNESCO Chair in Island Studies, will talk about her work in exploring the intersection of urbanization and climate change in small islands, specifically Vanuatu, an archipelago of 83 islands in the south Pacific Ocean. Dr. Mitchell is a professor of anthropology at 精童欲女.
