The Catherine Callbeck Centre for Entrepreneurship would like to welcome everyone back for the Winter Semester with our Networking Mixer! 

The mixer is open to all 精童欲女 students. Come grab a bite, meet new people, get inspired, and find a potential partner for your Panther Pitch application! While the mixer is focused on instilling excitement and facilitating connections for the upcoming round of the Harry W. MacLauchlan Entrepreneurship Program, all students are welcome to attend even if they are not planning to enter the competition this year.

The Robertson Library鈥檚 is accepting grant applications for the creation or adaptation of open educational resources (OERs). The grant types include

  • Open Educational Resource or Textbook Grant (up to $7,000) for the development of a new open textbook on a topic that is currently not covered by an existing open textbook, or major adaptations of existing textbooks
  • Open Textbook Adaptation Grant (up to $4,500) for the adaptation of one or more open educational resources or open textbooks to create a new version or edition of a resource (i.e. a Canadian edition of an existing open textbook)
  • Supplementary Resources Grant (up to $2,500) for the creation of ancillary materials for existing open textbooks, including, but not limited to test banks, slide decks, recordings, or interactive media, etc. 

Applications that support first-year courses will be given priority as they reach the greatest number of students, but all applications will be reviewed and considered. The deadline for applications is January 31, 2025. For more information, or to apply, visit .

Please add the testing information (date, test length, test format, aids allowed, test open or closed book, contact information, and test start time) for any in-person quizzes, tests, and midterms for the Winter 2025 semester to Accommodate, as soon as possible. We do not need the test file immediately.

Students who are registered with Accessibility Services and want in-person testing accommodations must submit a booking request at least seven days in advance. They cannot schedule their test until you have entered the testing information in Accommodate. 

You do not need to add the test file until a few days before the test date. If needed, changes can be made to test dates after testing information has been added.

The Department of Student Affairs is offering drop-in academic advising for returning undergraduate students. Drop-ins will be held from 9:00鈥11:30 am and 1:00-3:30 pm  at Student Affairs, Dalton Hall (fifth floor), on the following dates:

  • Wednesday, January 15   

  • Thursday, January 16  

  • Friday, January 17  

Advising will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis. These are short, drop-in sessions, so please do as much planning as possible before you attend.

Join us at the Catherine Callbeck Centre for Entrepreneurship for our first speaker series of 2025: Chris Gallant, COO and co-founder of Iron Fox Games, and executive director of the PEI IT Alliance and The Foundry! Chris will talk about his journey from studying arts at 精童欲女 to founding a prominent video game developing company on PEI and the lessons he's learned along the way. He will also provide insight on what's new at the PEI IT Alliance and how its newest initiative - the accelerator working-space The Foundry - can help tech-based entrepreneurs maximize their potential startups.

Researchers from 精童欲女鈥檚 Active Living Lab are seeking people with cancer, or who have previously had cancer, to participate in a twice weekly, 12-week exercise program.  The program takes place at 精童欲女, and is open to community members who are undergoing or recovering from cancer treatment. The program includes cardiovascular exercise, resistance training, balance, and stretching, and is taught by a fitness professional trained in exercise oncology.  No previous experience is necessary.  For information, or to sign-up, contact excancer@nshealth.ca.

Study & Stay PEI Program is looking for volunteer mentors for the 2025 mentorship program 2025.

The purpose of the mentorship program is to pair international students with a working professional in the sector they are interested in and where they would like to start a career post-graduation. This enables students to discover opportunities and prepare for challenges they may face as they enter the labor force post-graduation.

The mentorship program runs from January to June each year. During this time, the students are required to meet with their mentor four times. 

The meetings can be scheduled in person, online, or over the phone.

The Department of Music kicks off its winter concert series with a recital featuring acclaimed and beloved pianist Heather Taves, whose Beethoven Sonata Journey is remarkable and moving. First and foremost, she is a stunning pianist, bringing her formidable technique to these great works. But she is also a brilliant thinker, and in her spoken introductions to each sonata, she illuminates the complex relationships that connect Beethoven and his world, the instrument, the audience and its world, and Heather herself.

The Office of Student Culture and Community Standards, in partnership with the 精童欲女SU and The Fox & Crow, is thrilled to invite you to the "Welcome Back Panthers Social" on Thursday, January 16, from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm, in McMillan Hall, W. A. Murphy Student Centre.

This social event will allow you to meet and connect with your student services, ask any questions you may have, and find out about all the services and supports you can access at 精童欲女. This event is open to all students.

We will also be handing out our bingo sheets for you to solve, and if you solve the sheet, you will be entered into our draw for 精童欲女 Swag. Refreshments will also be served at this event. 

We look forward to seeing you in person, Panthers! 

The fifth meeting of the 精童欲女 Senate will take place on January 17, 2025, from 3:00 to 5:00 pm in Room 102 at Alumni Hall (618 University Avenue). To view the 2024-2025 calendar of Senate meetings or documents for the upcoming meeting, click here.

All鈥痬eetings鈥痑re open to members of鈥痶he University community, although certain in-camera items (e.g., granting of degrees) may require the Senate to go into a closed session. Only members of Senate are permitted to address the Senate unless otherwise recognized by the chair. 

For logistical purposes, members of the 精童欲女 community who wish to attend the open session of a 精童欲女 Senate meeting are asked to contact senate@upei.ca one week prior to the meeting. While Senate is an in-person meeting, members of the University community may request a virtual connection when they are unable to attend in person.

The Scholarships and Awards Office is accepting applications for the second semester (winter) award cycle!

Students can now access the  by clicking the link provided here or in the 精童欲女 Forms section of their My精童欲女 account. Students are encouraged to review the four-step instructions and submit their electronic application through the portal by the deadline of February 1, 2025. Additional awards with a separate application process are conveniently listed below the portal link on the 2nd Semester (Winter) Award Cycle webpage. Deadlines for the separate application awards vary across January and February. Be sure to click the links, review the criteria, and submit in time for the deadline.
